The United States is involved in a conflict. The United States has been involved in the War of Afghanistan for 18 years now. The Afghanistan war began with the attack on 9/11. The U.S believed that Osama Bin Laden was behind it. He was the leader of al-Qaeda, and the Taliban in Afghanistan allowed them to set up training camps there. The Taliban didn’t turn in Osama so the U.S decided to take matters into their own hands. In October 2001, the U.S started bombing Afghanistan (bbc.co.uk). I understand why the U.S started the war. They wanted the man responsible for 2,977 deaths in 9/11 (CNN.com). I don’t like the fact of how the U.S is killing innocent bystanders all for one man. At least 244,000 civilians died due to this war, which is way more people than the deaths in 9/11 (waston.brown). So many lives have been taken because of one man, and now he’s dead, so why is there still war? The U.S needs to draw back and come back home. There’s no legit reason for killing someone.
