I want to have a career in the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association). I want to play professional basketball for a career. I love the sport. I love playing the sport. There’s nothing I’d rather do for a living than doing something. That’s what drives me. The love for the sport insides me, drives me to want to play it for a profession. For a back up, I want to be a lawyer. What drives me is the incentive of black people not being able to defend their selves. A study of the New York County district attorney’s office (DANY) found black defendants 19% more likely to offer plea deals that have prison time than white defendants (Yolanda Young). Black people need to be seen past their crime, and past their color of skin. They deserve a fair trail and I want to be a public defender and help those who need it.
